Ahmad Akib Uz Zaman is working in Wyoming Department of
Transportation (WYDOT) as an Engineer I. He completed
Buffalo-UCross (US16) project as a Project Engineer. Also he
has been invloved in several other projects.
Ahmad Akib Uz Zaman was a master's student in Civil
Engineering and a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) at the
University of Wyoming. He is an FAA-certified drone pilot, an
Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh
(IEB), and a Student Member of ASCE. He obtained a B.Sc.
degree in Building Engineering and Construction Management
(equivalent to a US Civil Engineering BS degree) from Khulna
University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) in 2018.
Akib has a profound knowledge of Structural Engineering,
Geotech Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Construction
Management, and Architectural Engineering. He started his
professional career as a Project Consultant and Engineer at
different naval bases of the Bangladesh Navy based on contract
and successfully completed over 15 consultancies, design, and
construction projects. He also created a consultancy firm
named 'STUDIO Kalpakatha' with his architect friend and
operated the firm as Director for over two years.
Moreover, he was hired as a Research Consultant by the
Bangladesh Navy to conduct research and detailed feasibility
studies for the Detailed Project Planning (DPP) of two
construction projects. Currently, he is assigned as GTA to the
‘Soils and Concrete’ and ‘Statics and Structural Systems’
classes at the University of Wyoming. Moreover, he is a former
Graduate Research Assistant, and his research mainly focuses
on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Applications in
Infrastructure Systems Assessment, Infrastructure Asset
Management through Remote Sensing, Building Information
Modelling (BIM), AR/VR, Construction Automation, and Robotics,
and Construction Safety & Hazard Prevention.
He also has deep research interests in the Recycling of
Construction Wastes, Recycled Concrete, Concrete Performance
and Durability, and Supplementary Cementitious Materials. Akib
has outstanding communication and leadership skills and is a
critical thinker and problem solver. He loves to learn new
things and always tries to increase his skills. Akib is
looking forward to graduating with a master’s and
enthusiastically waiting for an opportunity to make a
noteworthy perennial contribution to the research, civil
engineering, and construction industry utilizing his prior
experience and soft and hard skills.
